Busselton, Western AustraliaBrief guide for Backpackers visiting Busselton, WABusselton or Busso as we call it is a town about 2.5 hours south of Perth. It's a popular tourist destination and famous for it's iconic and photogenic jetty which is the longest of it's type in the southern hemisphere. Although a popular holiday (and retirement!) destination for West Australians, it is far from the top of the list for young travellers. For backpackers, there is not that much to do or see in the town itself (other than the Jetty) but is definitely worth a stop as you pass through on your way to Margaret River or Dunsborough. The grassed area near the beach at the Jetty is a great spot to stop for lunch and of course take photos of the Busselton Jetty. While there, you can grab a map from the Visitor Centre which contains all the information to help you plan your visit to the entire Margaret River region. Busselton is essentially a gateway to the great southern. Photos taken on tour in Busselton
