Denmark, Western AustraliaTravelling to Denmark, WA on a Budget - Brief Guide for BackpackersDenmark is a beautiful little town in the south of Western Australia and about half an hour's drive east from Albany or 4.5hrs drive from Perth. It's a very tourist focused town and known for it's close proximity to the famous Greens Pool & Elephant Rocks areas. We definitely recommend Backpackers make this a stop as they travel in the South of Western Australia. Cheap Accommodation in Denmark, WAThere is a small YHA in town called the Blue Wren Lodge and several Caravan Parks. We can recommend the Rivermouth Caravan Park which is a short drive out of town but still within decent walking distance for when you've had too many drinks at the pub. Things to Do in DenmarkFor Backpackers visiting Denmark, there is plenty to do but as attractions in town itself is limited, you will need transport to visit attractions in the surrounding area. After taking many backpackers on tour here, we can tell you the top favourite spots are Greens Pool/Elephant Rocks and the Animal Farm called Pentland both of which are about 20 minutes drive from the centre of Denmark. The famous but perhaps over-rated Valley of the Giants Tree Top walk is only a 45 minute drive east from Denmark. Other things to do for Backpackers in & around Denmark include fishing, sunbathing, horse riding, wine tasting, gourmet food tasting, canoeing/kayaking, Dinosaur World, hiking & even yoga.
